Bio
Dr. Kerrie Ocasio is a macro and generalist practice social worker with BASW, MSW, Ph.D. degrees. She joined WCU following three years as an Assistant Research Professor at the Rutgers University School of Social Work. Ocasio utilizes her social work practice experience promoting child and family well-being, conducting strategic planning, and developing and evaluating services to educate the next generation of social workers.
As a scholar, the purpose of her research is to: Understand the effects of foster care and legal or relational permanency on children and families; improve the quality of services provided by child welfare agencies and related systems; and contribute to racial and economic justice in the child welfare system.
