About Non-WCU Classes
Any classes taken outside of WCU must be evaluated by our Transfer Credit Center in the Registrar's Office if you wish to receive credit towards a degree. These types of credits include:
- Test Credit (e.g., CLEP, AP, IB)
- Study Abroad
- Classes taken at another college or university (e.g. Summer classes)
- As a current student at West Chester University, you must obtain permission to take courses at another college or university by submitting a Transfer Credit Permission form . Your request must be approved before any courses are taken elsewhere.
- PA State System (PASSHE) Visiting Students from WCU: Any WCU Student wishing to take courses at another PA State System (PASSHE) institution should complete the PASSHE Visiting Student Application . WCU Students are only eligible to participate in the PA State System (PASSHE) Visiting Student program if they have completed a minimum of 12 credits at WCU and are in good academic standing (Cumulative GPA of 2.0 or better).
- PA State System (PASSHE) Visiting Students to WCU: Any student from another PA State System (PASSHE) institution is eligible to take classes at WCU as part of the PA State System (PASSHE) Visiting Student program. Visiting students should complete the PASSHE Visiting Student Application . Students are only eligible to participate in the PA State System (PASSHE) Visiting Student program if they have completed a minimum of 12 credits at their home institution and are in good academic standing (Cumulative GPA of 2.0 or better).
- Cheyney Cross Registration: West Chester University and Cheyney University will provide the opportunity for students to enroll concurrently at both institutions. Please contact the office of the Registrar if you are interested in participating in this program. As part of this program, the two institutions will be able to coordinate consortium agreements to help facilitate the disbursement of financial aid.
