Overview of Programs
The Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders offers four programs. The first leads to a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders. The second leads to the accelerated B.A. degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders to Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in Speech-Language Pathology. The third, known as the Pre-Graduate Certification Program (PCP), leads to eligibility for admission to graduate programs in Communication Sciences and Disorders for individuals with a bachelor’s degree in another field. The fourth leads to an M.A. degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
History of the Clinic
Founded in 1923, the West Chester University Speech and Hearing Clinic was one of the first in the United States. Today, it continues to provide superior professional diagnostic and treatment services in speech-language pathology and audiology, while fostering excellence in clinical education for students in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders.
